Finding Rosenwald
Rosenwald schools gave southern states a place to call their own. It provided the community access to a public schools. The community banned together to contribute cash and in-kind donations of material and labor to match money from the Rosenwald Fund. By the end of the program in 1932, the Rosenwald Fund contributed $4.3 million and African-American's contributed $4.7 million.
